A novel of H.G.Wells, entitled The Invisible Man induced me to make this print. The hero of this fantastic story has prepared a mysterious chemical liquid. When he drinks it, his body becomes perfectly translucent. But this invisibility being rather inconvenient, he wants to get visible again and swathes his face with a bandage. My picture presents a similar situation. At the same time it gave me an occasion to draw a recognizable portrait, externally as well as internally.
